Robo Maestro launched on January 20, 2023 as a free-to-play procedural music toy. Shortly after launch, the developer published a roadmap on January 24, 2023 outlining planned free updates including new instruments, electronic drum machines, and a modding system. The developer then delivered on these promises across three post-launch updates: Update 1.1 (January 27, 2023) added synth bass instruments; Update 1.2 (May 31, 2023) added the "Misty" instrument category with 16 new instruments; and Update 1.3 (June 29, 2023), titled "Streamers Delight," added 4 new electronic drum instruments and Twitch integration. The roadmap items (synth basses, electronic drums, eerie/misty instruments) were all fulfilled by these updates. Notably, the modding feature was on the original roadmap but does not appear to have shipped — however, the developer's last post was Update 1.3 on June 29, 2023, and there has been no developer communication since that date. The January 2023 roadmap post noted the developer was making the game "for the fun of it" as a solo project, and the Update 1.1.1 notes warned of "a very busy period ahead" before future updates. The absence of any developer posts since June 29, 2023 — over three years ago — combined with the fact that all the core promised content (instruments, drum machines) shipped, and the only outstanding item (modding) was described as conditional ("If a tiny modding community spawns from this, I'll consider adding Steamworks support"), suggests the game has reached the end of its update cycle. The overall pattern — a solo developer delivering rapid free updates in the months after launch, followed by complete silence — is consistent with a finished product rather than an abandoned roadmap.

Maestro Mode

Maestro Mode is a fun, relaxing experience where the music constantly evolves based on your choices. The Maestro generates random options that you can choose from to alter the music. Hear something you like? Store it as a chorus to come back to later, or save it for usage in the editors.

Loop Editor

Build your own loops and define details like instruments, layers, intensity and random seeds. Whatever you do, Robo Maestro makes sure it always fits with the rest of the music!

Song Editor

Combine your loops to create complete songs!

Own your creations

Share your music with friends, or open it in any other music software to continue editing there. Export as MIDI, WAV or each layer as a separate WAV. What you create with Robo Maestro is yours to use in any way you like!

Optional deep tweaks

You can also dive deeper and define the chords and time signatures yourself. You don’t have to though: Robo Maestro can figure everything out itself, so you don’t need to know any music theory to use it. But if you want, you can get more detailed control.

Jam companion

Jam along to Robo Maestro on your favourite instrument or vocals! This automatic mode will let Robo Maestro endlessly evolve the music, fully automatically, as a backing for your own improvisation. Or enable the full features and just sit back and be surprised by what Robo Maestro can generate!

Advanced music AI

Robo Maestro is powered by an advanced procedural music generator. Dozens of algorithms work together to create each aspect of a song: drums, bass, melody, chords, rhythm, notes and much, much more. You can control each step individually, or just let Robo Maestro generate a complete loop and make tweaks from there.
