Rolled Out!

Rolled Out! entered Steam Early Access on March 23, 2021 and remains in that state as of today. The game has received three major content updates since launch: the online leaderboards update (June 4, 2021), a major visual overhaul and physics determinism update (November 16, 2021), and the Expert difficulty update adding 100+ stages (August 26, 2023). Earlier in development, the team explicitly outlined a roadmap in July 2021 that included a promised multiplayer mode as a future milestone — that feature has never shipped. The December 2022 update included a candid message from the lead developer (Alice) acknowledging that personal circumstances had slowed development significantly, but reaffirming commitment to the project. The August 2023 Expert update followed roughly 9 months later. However, since August 26, 2023, there have been no developer posts, patches, or communications of any kind. That is now nearly 3 years of silence. The game is still in Early Access, multiplayer was never delivered, and there has been no statement from the team about whether development is continuing, paused, or concluded. Given the history of irregular but ultimately resumed updates, and the developer's own acknowledgment of personal challenges affecting the project's pace, the current silence is a significant concern — but the developer has not officially closed out the game either.
