Room of Depression

Room of Depression launched on May 3, 2023 as a self-contained narrative adventure game. The developer described it at launch as "not long" and focused on delivering a specific atmospheric experience — it was conceived and shipped as a complete product. The only DLC released is a Digital Artbook (May 4, 2023), which is supplementary material rather than new story content. Since launch, the developer has remained engaged with the game, but all post-launch updates have been localization additions (Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Hungarian, and Spanish) and a bug fix for a Mac/Windows upload error. These are maintenance and accessibility improvements, not content expansions. The one "major_content" post in the news feed is the launch announcement itself. The most recent developer communication was on March 10, 2025 (Spanish language support), confirming the studio is still active and maintaining the game. However, no future content — additional story chapters, DLC, or expansions — has ever been announced. The pattern of updates is entirely localization-driven, consistent with a developer trying to bring a finished game to more players rather than expanding its content.
