By January 2020, the developer had moved on entirely — a news post from January 23, 2020 promoted their follow-up title, Rugby 20, explicitly acknowledging they had "learned a lot from the mistakes made with Rugby 18" and had spent two years rebuilding from the ground up. There have been no further updates, announcements, or developer communications about Rugby 18 content since December 2017. The game's sole DLC was released on launch day, and no additional content was ever announced or shipped. Rugby 18 is a complete, finished product with no further content planned.
