Run, Kitty! launched on November 12, 2021. On November 12, 2025 — the game's 4th anniversary — the developer posted a progress update confirming that Update 1.1 is still in active development. At that time, 2 of the 3 planned new CG artworks were fully finished, the third was described as straightforward to complete, and remaining work included writing new text, integrating assets, translating, and testing. The developer explicitly committed to releasing the update before the game's 5th anniversary on November 12, 2026, and mentioned plans to share behind-the-scenes sketches "soon."
As of today, October 1, 2026, the 5th anniversary deadline is approximately six weeks away. No update has been announced as shipped, no further developer communication has appeared since the November 12, 2025 post, and the promised behind-the-scenes previews have not materialized either. The developer's self-imposed deadline is still technically in the future, but the complete silence since November 2025 — nearly 11 months — combined with the rapidly approaching deadline raises legitimate uncertainty about whether the update will arrive on time or at all.
