Runeous: Part One launched on May 31, 2016 as a free-to-play visual novel explicitly described as the first half of a two-part story. The store page states directly that the plot "will be concluded in part 2" and that "more plot essential characters" will be introduced in the second episode. This makes Part Two an outstanding commitment from the developer.
The developer's activity after launch was extremely brief: a launch announcement on May 31, 2016, and a single feature patch adding achievements on June 3, 2016. There have been no developer communications of any kind since June 3, 2016 — nearly a decade of complete silence. Part Two has never been announced, teased, or released.
Given that the developer promised a concluding second part but has gone silent for nearly ten years with no update or explanation, it is impossible to determine whether Part Two is still being developed, has been quietly abandoned, or was cancelled without announcement. The game as released is an incomplete story by the developer's own description.

Story
The story follows a small group of heroes in a world ravished by the wars of its past.
Runestones possessing magical qualities are what fuel the industry, their secrets long ago lost.
Humans research them to unlock their hidden potential.
Overpopulation in cities built for far fewer inhabitants. Homes built atop homes with giant walkways connecting the various levels together.
The world of Ceir'a faces a new threat. It is here that Leif, a young runic apprentice meets a Jacawi tribeswoman Eme. Together they must overcome the differences of their people and unite the factions to thwart the rising evil empire. Though not all is as it seems when the very fabric of nature begins to fall apart!
