Rusty's Retirement

Rusty's Retirement launched on April 26, 2024 and has received four major content updates post-launch: the Winter update (December 10, 2024), a Vampire Survivors crossover map (April 1, 2025), a Balatro crossover map (August 7, 2025), and an Autumn mini-update (October 1, 2025). This established a consistent pattern of significant updates arriving roughly every 3–5 months. Two separate developer posts explicitly signaled more content to come. In the April 1, 2025 post, the developer stated they still have plans to expand the base game and mentioned experimenting with mining, conveyor belts, and a biofuel-powered electrical system. In the October 1, 2025 Autumn mini-update post, the developer noted they are "working on a few more mechanics" intended for a future bigger update. The last developer communication of any kind was a bug fix patch on October 6, 2025. As of today, September 24, 2026, that is nearly 12 months without any update or statement — substantially beyond the developer's established 3–5 month major release cadence. The developer is a solo indie creator who mentioned navigating new parenthood in early 2025, which may be a factor, but no explanation has been provided for the extended silence. The promised mechanics and the "bigger update" referenced in October 2025 have not shipped, and there has been no communication confirming whether development is still ongoing.
