Sanctum launched on April 15, 2011 as one of the first FPS/Tower Defense hybrid games. Coffee Stain Studios supported it with DLC and patches through 2012 — releasing map packs, a soundtrack, a Christmas DLC, and a Yogscave DLC. The last substantive content update to the game itself was the "Still Alive" patch on October 9, 2012, which added a new weapon (the Tesla) and two new towers. By early 2013, the studio had fully shifted its communications on this game's store page toward announcing Sanctum 2, with development updates for the sequel posted in December 2012 and January 2013. By late 2017, the news channel was being used to promote Deep Rock Galactic, a separate Coffee Stain project. All five DLC items are released and no unreleased DLC exists. There has been no developer communication about new content for this game since 2013, and no indication of any planned future updates. Sanctum is a finished product — its development concluded over a decade ago when the studio moved on to its sequel.
