Evaluation

Scribble Bots launched on January 8, 2026 and has received a steady stream of updates since then. Three major content drops shipped in quick succession: new maps and powerups on January 23, 2026; Steam achievements, two more maps, and a new powerup on February 13, 2026; and Steam Workshop support plus a new map on March 18, 2026. Feature patches also added Mac support (February 17, 2026) and controller support (February 5, 2026). The developer published a roadmap on January 18, 2026 explicitly committing to additional game modes (capture the flag, collect the eggs, PvE), a level editor, and expanded mod support. The most recent post, from March 18, 2026, confirms the level editor is still actively being worked on and that mod support will continue to grow. The developer acknowledged updates may slow somewhat due to personal work commitments, but was clear that development is ongoing. The last developer communication was on March 18, 2026 — roughly six months before today's date of September 24, 2026. That silence is at the edge of the threshold, but given the stated reason for slowdown (new job, moving house) and the still-outstanding roadmap commitments (level editor, new game modes), there is no reason to treat this as an abandoned project. The roadmap items remain publicly undelivered and have not been retracted.
Evidence
Developer added Steam Workshop bot support and a new map, and stated that mod support will continue to expand with a level editor planned as a future addition. Updates may slow due to personal life changes (new job, moving house), but development will continue.

About this game

Scribble bots is a multiplayer, physics based party game, where you draw a robot, then play as your drawing in a variety of fun and goofy game modes.

Draw Your Robot!

As a player, you are given total creative freedom to draw your robot however you wish. You can draw limbs and bodies of any shape or size, and decorate your robot how you see fit. As each robot is simulated physically, your drawing has a drastic impact on your gameplay. Will you draw a functional masterpiece, or an inoperable abomination?

Battle Your Friends!

Face off against your friends and their robots, both online and offline, in a variety of game modes and maps, including soccer, racing and king of the hill.

Add Powerups!

Add powerups to your robot, such as thrusters, wheels and rocket launchers to add new dimensions to the gameplay.

Unlimited Possibilities!

Draw your robot however you want to! See what works, what doesn't work. Experiment, test your robot, iterate, decorate, until you have the perfect design. Or just draw something silly and have a good time!

Features

  • Online and local multiplayer with up to 4 players

  • Play different game modes: Soccer, Race, King of the Hill, Battle, Hide and seek, and Collect the Coins

  • Play on 15+ maps

  • Use 10+ powerups

  • Collect hats and cosmetics

  • Test your robot in a shared lobby

  • Easily share your robot via copy paste

What's Coming Next?

After release, my first priority will be adding more content, so more maps, powerups and game modes. After a few content updates, I will switch my focus to mod support, and a custom map creator.

Did you use AI do develop this?

The only AI used in the development of this game was the google AI summaries unconsensually shoved in my face while searching for the godot documentation. So no.
