Evaluation

Settlemoon launched on July 31, 2023 and received consistent post-launch updates, culminating in the major New Moon+ Update (v2.0) on March 25, 2024, which added a full NG+ storyline. The developer continued refining the game through a series of feature patches: the Renovator Update (v2.3) on October 4, 2024, a polish update (v2.4) on December 18, 2024, and two smaller follow-up patches in January and June 2025. On May 12, 2025, the developer (Lepioid LLC) posted a direct statement about the game's future, describing Settlemoon as "pretty...settled at this point" with a "good amount of content" and noting that ideas for changing the formula are "better saved for a sequel or spiritual successor." This was reinforced at the two-year anniversary post on August 1, 2025, where the developer explicitly stated the game is "pretty much done-and-done" and described being "real satisfied with where it's ended up." The developer also mentioned being busy with other projects, with no further Settlemoon content planned beyond a potential Android port (which is a platform release, not new game content). The June 2, 2025 v2.4c patch — focused on save backup improvements and a minor loading-screen fix — represents the last known update and is maintenance-only in nature. The developer has clearly and directly communicated that content development for Settlemoon is complete.

About this game

Settlemoon is an old-school idle game about building a small sidescrolling town. As your town grows in real time, you'll attract visitors, buy materials, sell items, and post quests for adventurers to complete. Expand from a single inn to a bustling town that visitors of all levels and classes are attracted to.

Relaxed commitment

Good things take time. Set up your town and check in to see who's visiting throughout the day, or set things up to run overnight. Your town will handle itself for a while, even when the game isn't open, and will be there waiting for your return.

Mysterious World

With no fail states and no need for constant micromanagement, you can study Settlemoon's inner workings at your own pace. Attract odd visitors and powerful bosses to uncover the mystery of the land, all told through charming pixel art and a retro-inspired soundtrack.

Customize your town

Using hundreds of different pieces of decor, paint colors and flooring, pretty up your town however you like. Re-shape your town to suit the needs of yourself and your visitors. Create quests for adventurers to go on to build your town's economy.

Fashion and Favorites

Every adventurer has a unique look. Name your favorites so you'll see them revisit, or copy their fashion sense to your own avatar. You can also just fling them around. They can take it.
