Shotgun Cop Man launched on May 1, 2025 as a precision platformer from solo developer Victor Ågren (DeadToast Entertainment), the creator of My Friend Pedro. The game shipped with over 150 handcrafted campaign levels and a built-in level editor integrated with Steam Workshop.
Shortly after launch on May 15, 2025, the developer released a major Level Editor update that made the community creation tools publicly available. Then on June 20, 2025 — today's date — a substantial free DLC titled "My Friend Pedro" was released, adding 51 new levels across three new worlds, three new boss fights, and several new gameplay mechanics (slow-motion, skateboarding, frying pans, zip-lines, and more), all inspired by the developer's previous game.
In the launch-day post (May 2, 2025), the developer hinted there "might just be another little surprise cooking too" beyond the level editor. The June 20 My Friend Pedro DLC appears to be exactly that surprise. The developer has not made any further announcements of upcoming content beyond this release. The game is actively supported and well-received (96% positive from 647 reviews), and given its very recent post-launch history of substantive free content drops, it is not yet clear whether additional content is planned.
