Shrot launched on June 20, 2024 as a self-described "bite-sized" old-school action RTS. On launch day, the developer explicitly addressed the question of future content: an expansion would only be considered if the game attracted a wider audience, with a humorous benchmark of needing "at least one copy sold in Mongolia" — otherwise, work on a new project would begin in September 2024. This is a conditional statement, not a commitment to future content. Since launch, the developer has shipped two updates: a feature patch on January 2, 2025 (v1.4, improving difficulty balancing, tutorials, and UI) and a bug fix on June 30, 2025 (v1.5, fixing a crash). Neither post announces or implies any planned expansion or new content. No unreleased DLC is listed on the store. The only DLC available is the soundtrack, which released on launch day. The post-launch activity consists of maintenance and quality-of-life improvements, not expansion of content. The developer's own launch statement framed an expansion as contingent and uncertain, and no subsequent communication has revisited or confirmed that possibility. The game appears to have shipped as a complete product, with post-launch patches addressing polish and stability only.
