Evaluation
Signal Simulator launched on April 29, 2018 and received a sustained run of updates through early 2020. The developer shipped three named major updates — Update 1.5.0 Beta (November 29, 2018), Update 1.6.0 (March 22, 2019), and Update 1.7 (June 7, 2019) — along with numerous feature patches in between. The last recorded developer communication of any kind was Update 1.7.8 on April 13, 2020, which added new upgrade options, overhauled the shadow system, and fixed a range of bugs. Since that date, there have been no further posts, announcements, or updates from the developer across 49 scanned news posts. The store description ends with "A lot more features are coming..." — a line that appears to have been written during the active development period and was never updated. No roadmap, no unreleased DLC, and no developer statement about future content exist. The update cadence was roughly one major release every 3–6 months from late 2018 through mid-2019, followed by a series of smaller patches into early 2020. More than six years have passed since the last update with no communication whatsoever, placing the game well beyond any reasonable continuation of that pattern. The game appears to have been quietly concluded, with April 13, 2020 representing the final update.
Evidence
Update 1.7.8 released — the last developer communication on record, adding new upgrade options, an overhauled shadow system, and various bug fixes.
Update 1.7 released as a major named update, adding autocalibration, Aurora Borealis, the BOINC project system, volumetric fog, and significant terrain and antenna changes.
