Evaluation

Sill Sticks is a free-to-play idle desktop app that launched on July 19–20, 2026. Both paid DLC packs — the Dress Up Pack and the Partner Pack — shipped on launch day. On September 15, 2026, the developer posted a detailed update outlining specific features they are actively working on: fixing the stick figures' jumping behavior, adding toggles for speech bubbles and ladders, increasing conversation frequency between stick figures, adding new poses, enabling cross-app interactions with characters from Sill Cats, and eventually implementing a stick figure battle mode on the desktop. This is a concrete, itemized list of planned content, not a vague promise. Then on September 23, 2026, the developer announced a new title in the series — Sill Dogs — and noted they are working on letting Bota and the Sill Dogs characters recognize each other, adding another piece of planned cross-app content to the pipeline. In addition to these commitments, the developer has maintained a steady stream of patches since launch: feature updates on July 21 and July 26, and bug fixes on July 27, August 7, and August 13, 2026. The store description and pre-launch announcement also both explicitly state the intention to keep updating the app.

About this game

A Slacker Moves Onto Your Desktop!?

Sill Sticks is an idle desktop app where a stick figure comes to live on the edges of your desktop windows — all you do is watch and enjoy.

The star is "Bota," a stick figure who's sloppy, forever slacking off, a bit of a handful, and... maybe a little cute? Somehow, you just can't hold it against him. He grumbles and lazes around, yet he seems quietly happy somehow. Bota dreams of being a cat, is hopeless around sweets, holes up at every opportunity, and spends his days on games, TV, and sleep. You sneak a peek at his mutterings between tasks. That's the whole app.

Features

  • Mutters in context — Bota idly talks to himself based on the time of day, the day of the week, and how long the app has been left running. In the morning it's "Still sleepy...", and late at night it's "Go to bed already... yeah, me too." The combinations produce different lines from day to day.

  • Just peek at him — Bota knows you're there. Every now and then he'll talk to you. Maybe a friendship will blossom?

  • Stays out of your way — Bota won't get in your way. He's just idling through life at his own pace. Though he does talk to you sometimes. Sometimes.
