Evaluation

Sim Companies is a free-to-play massively multiplayer business simulation built around a persistent, player-driven economy. By its very nature, it is designed to run and evolve indefinitely rather than ship as a finished package. The developer has maintained a consistent cadence of weekly update posts throughout the game's life on Steam. The most recent post, on August 27, 2026, documents new building graphics, UI redesigns, and bug fixes. Earlier posts from 2026 show a continuous flow of new features: a redesigned production screen UI (August 19, 2026), a new EVA ranking system (July 7, 2026), new building tier expansions (June 28, 2026), new personal assistant characters (February 5, 2026), a new limit buy orders system (February 2, 2026), and ongoing building graphic redesigns across multiple industries. A February 11, 2026 post explicitly previewed upcoming content: more executive avatars in development, new HQ skins for the Electronics and Construction industries, and Agriculture industry buildings scheduled as the next round of redesigns. A January 7, 2026 post also listed "coming soon" items including new HQ skins and executive avatar updates actively in progress. The game's monetization through Sim Boosts (a virtual currency for cosmetics and gameplay features) and its live, player-driven economy confirm this is an ongoing service with no natural endpoint. Weekly developer communication has continued without interruption through August 27, 2026.
