Evaluation

Siren's Call: Escape Velocity is a visual novel that spent several years in development and launched its full 1.0 release on January 10, 2025. The developer, Jacob of ThePenSword, described the launch as "the end of a long development story" — six years of work culminating in the finished product. At launch, the developer mentioned that translations (Spanish and German) were still being worked on, with an approximate April 2025 target. However, the March 28, 2026 update (version 1.03) explicitly states that those translations have been "delayed for the indefinite future" and removes the language selection menu entirely, effectively closing out that remaining open item. The only DLC is the Fan Pack, which released on January 11, 2025 — the day after launch — and is already available. The short description on the store refers to the game as "the definitive edition of the fan-favorite visual novel," consistent with a complete, finished product. The developer's post-launch activity has shifted firmly toward a new project: Siren's Call: Second Wind was announced in January 2026 with a free demo, and a Kickstarter for it launched on February 14, 2026. These posts are about a sequel, not about continued content for Escape Velocity. There are no announced or unreleased DLC items, no roadmap for future updates, and no indication of any planned additions to the game.
Evidence
Version 1.03 patch notes state that planned translations have been 'delayed for the indefinite future' and the language selection menu has been removed, closing out the last remaining planned feature.

About this game

As a story that begins at the end, all that's standing between you and adulthood are your old party members. Your best friends.

After a summer of deadly fights with supernatural creatures known only as "Sirens," you and your friends finally have time to relax and enjoy yourselves. But in the wreckage of a job well done...it's become obvious just how fleeting their time with you actually is. Even so, it's your job to say goodbye to each of them and go to college. It's your job to be an adult.

Still, it's five of them versus one of you. And after years of friendship and an entire summer of fighting side-by-side, these people know exactly what it takes to make you want to stay home...for just a bit longer.

A game that's designed to make you as unsure of yourself as humanly possible, Siren's Call takes full advantage of every aspect of the visual novel format to deliver a mind-warping storytelling experience. Can you get the "Hell" out of Florida? Will you reach Escape Velocity?
