Skybreakers launched on November 15, 2023 as a fully released action roguelike. Following launch, the developer was actively engaged: they shipped numerous feature patches between November and December 2023 adding new artifacts, balance changes, and quality-of-life improvements, then announced and delivered an Endless Mode — first teased on November 28, 2023 and officially launched on April 21, 2024. On June 14, 2024, a free Art Book DLC was released as a thank-you to players. That is the last recorded developer activity. The sole DLC in the store listing (the Art Book) is already released. There are no unreleased DLC items, no announced future content, no roadmap pointing forward, and no developer communications after June 14, 2024. The game launched with a defined content set, received meaningful post-launch improvements and one new mode, then went quiet. With no outstanding commitments and silence since June 14, 2024 — well beyond any pattern the developer had established — the game appears to have reached its final state.

Character weapons can create different play styles. Various systems such as talents, artifacts, random affixes, abilities, and bonds, allow you to create unique builds that greatly increase the replayability of the game.
