Evaluation

SkyInFlames entered Steam Early Access on April 27, 2026 and has been updated at a remarkable pace. Since launch through September 2, 2026 — approximately five months — the developer has shipped at least six major named updates: "Precision and Power: Arsenal Update" (April 24, 2026), "Democracy Calls v0.15.8" (May 13, 2026), "0.15.9 - Strategic Strike" (May 23, 2026), "Drones and Waves – 3vs3" (June 9, 2026), "REBORN 0.16" (July 30, 2026), "Update 0.16.5" (August 13, 2026), and "Close Support 0.17" (August 21, 2026), plus a feature patch on September 2, 2026. This is an extremely active development cadence. The Spring–Summer 2026 roadmap published on May 3, 2026 committed to a broad range of content including counter-battery radar, FPV drones, electronic warfare, air formations, company/quick missions, a mission editor, and tournaments. Many roadmap items have since shipped — S-400/Patriot, Gepard, Tu-160, F-16, helicopters, electronic warfare systems, ranked matchmaking, and 3v3 mode all arrived in subsequent updates. However, several items remain undelivered: counter-battery radar, air formations, company/quick missions, a mission editor, and tournaments are not accounted for in the shipped updates. The REBORN 0.16 update (July 30, 2026) explicitly flagged the step-by-step tutorial as disabled and being rebuilt for the new engine. The most recent major content update, Close Support 0.17 (August 21, 2026), added attack helicopters, ground-attack aircraft, interceptor drones, fighters, and electronic warfare systems — continuing to deliver substantial new content. The developer has made no statement that development is complete or winding down. The store page explicitly states the game is in active development.
