Skyworld launched on October 17, 2017. Shortly after launch, the developer confirmed plans for free post-launch content, and followed through: the game received feature patches (including Update 1.7 in April 2019 adding player progression systems) and a free DLC called "Fresh Meat" which launched in July 2019, adding 5 new maps and 8 new units. The most significant post-launch development was the April 2, 2019 release of a standalone spin-off, Skyworld: Kingdom Brawl. All developer activity after July 2019 in this game's news feed pertains to other Vertigo Games titles (Arizona Sunshine, After the Fall, Unplugged VR) — not Skyworld itself. The last Skyworld-specific communication was the Fresh Meat DLC launch in July 2019. A notable change has since been made to the game's store page: a prominent notice states that as of July 1, 2025, the co-op and multiplayer modes are no longer available.
