Snowdome is a kinetic visual novel — a linear, choice-free story with no branching paths or multiple endings — that launched on July 23, 2020. The only post-launch content was the addition of an English language version on December 22, 2020, which completed the game's localization. The sole DLC, the original soundtrack, was released on August 11, 2020 and is the only store-listed add-on for the game.
The most recent developer news post (May 31, 2024) is not about Snowdome at all — it announces the Early Access release of a new game, Mechanical Lovesong, by the same studio. This confirms Lunatic Works has moved on to new projects. There are no announcements of new content, updates, or expansions planned for Snowdome, and the game's nature as a finished kinetic novel makes further story content unlikely by design. The game launched as a complete, self-contained narrative experience and has remained so.

Story

The dreams he once had led him to this city against his parents' wishes. With no friends or lovers, he now finds himself losing all hope and struggles to survive every day. It's like his whole life is trapped inside a snowdome, unable to escape.
But on a chance encounter, he meets a girl who innocently reaches out to him, asking him to help her save the world. Would this prove to be the turning point in his life?

This is Lunatic Works' debut visual novel. As this is a kinetic novel, there aren't any choice options or multiple endings. Instead, we've created a story that the audience can freely interpret, leading to an open experience. In the game, we hope that you can find something you can relate to. Every one of us has experienced the dullness of work and life crashing upon us, as if something is weighing on us, controlling us. We all attempt to break out from this “box”, and our common desire is what we hope will make this story a fulfilling experience.We aim for realism. While we do not expect every detail to be grounded in reality, we still want our readers to empathize with the story and characters, reducing the need for deus ex machina interpretations. While the story might take unexpected turns, there is logic behind every twist which, hopefully, will lead you to gain insight into the human condition.
