Evaluation
Sophie's Dice launched on June 17, 2019 and has received a consistent stream of major updates from its solo developer, Sophie Houlden. The major content milestones are: v1.3 "Huge Update" on October 8, 2020 (157 new dice shapes, overhauled customization); v1.5 "Sweet Update" on October 10, 2021 (30 new shapes, graphics improvements); v1.6 "Dizzying Update" on November 6, 2024 (spinners, teetotums, weighted-void spheres, new features); and v1.7 "Dice the Demiurge Update" on October 17, 2025 (new shapes, customization options, expanded roll mechanics, new images). A follow-up patch (v1.71) arrived on November 11, 2025. This establishes a clear pattern of roughly one major update per year. As of today, October 8, 2026, approximately 11 months have passed since the v1.7 release on October 17, 2025 — placing us right at the edge of the established annual cadence window. The developer has made no announcement that development is concluding, and the tone of recent posts remains warm and engaged. No specific future content has been announced, but the sustained multi-year history of updates supports the expectation that more will come.
