Soulestination launched on January 5, 2021 as a complete, self-contained strategy RPG. In the weeks following launch, the developer shipped a rapid series of feature patches (v1.04 through v1.10) adding quality-of-life improvements, difficulty options, and bug fixes — typical post-launch polish for an indie title.
After that initial burst of activity, updates became infrequent. Patch v1.15 arrived on January 14, 2023 with bug fixes, followed by a long gap. Patch v1.16 arrived on October 8, 2024 — and the developer explicitly noted in that post that it had been "more than 1.5 years from the last update." Critically, that same post stated that the developer is now working on a **new game**, not additional content for Soulestination. The mention of hoping to share news about the new game "before the 4th anniversary of Soulestination" (i.e., before January 2025) confirmed the developer's focus had shifted away from this title. Patch v1.17 followed on January 3, 2025 with minor bug fixes, but contained no content additions.
There is no unreleased DLC, no announced future content for Soulestination, and no sustained pattern of major content releases after launch. The game shipped as a complete experience and has since received only maintenance-level updates. The developer's own statement confirms attention has moved to a successor project.
