Evaluation
SPACEPLAN originally launched on May 3, 2017 as a self-contained narrative clicker game with no post-launch content cycle. On July 27, 2023, the developer released SPACEPLAN 2.0 — a full ground-up remaster modernizing the UI, art, physics, and audio. A wave of follow-up patches in late July and early August 2023 addressed balance and bugs introduced by the remaster. The soundtrack DLC also received a free "Side B" expansion of five new tracks to accompany the remaster. After this burst of activity concluding around August 2–3, 2023, there have been no further developer communications. The 2.0 remaster was framed as a modernization effort — not the beginning of an ongoing content roadmap — and no future content was announced alongside it. The sole DLC (the soundtrack) is fully released. The game appears to have reached its final form with the 2.0 remaster.
Evidence
SPACEPLAN 2.0 released: a full ground-up remaster updating UI, art, physics, and audio. Framed as a modernization to future-proof the game, not a content expansion.
Soundtrack DLC received a free 'Side B' addition of 5 new tracks alongside the remaster, at no extra cost to existing owners.

About this game
SPACEPLAN is an experimental piece of interaction based partly on a total misunderstanding of Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time. Use manual clicks and the passage of time to create and launch potato-based devices and probes from your nondescript satellite orbiting a mysterious planet. Unlock the mysteries of the galaxy or just kill some time in what the astrophysics community is calling the ‘best narrative sci-fi clicker game of all times’.
Features
- Fifteen starchy items to unlock, create, and blast into the vacuum of space.
- Life affirming, silly story that will both captivate and help you kill time.
- Reveal the secrets of five different planets across two different realities.
- Banging soundtrack, as is customary in a narrative sci-fi clicker game.
