SpellMaster: The Saga

SpellMaster: The Saga launched on February 16, 2022 and has been receiving ongoing updates since then. The game is structured as a multi-chapter story RPG, with Chapter 1 covering the Misty Valley region. The developer has been publicly building out Chapter 2 — a massive new region called The Middle Lot — for well over a year. Multiple official posts confirm Chapter 2 is actively planned and in development. On February 22, 2024, the developer published a detailed work-in-progress post showcasing the new region, describing it as three times the size of Chapter 1 with five times more quests. On August 11, 2025, the developer stated that "updates are planned" and that "everything is going according to plan, although it's taking longer than expected." On December 22, 2025, responding to player concerns, the developer explicitly said "the development is not abandoned — Chapter 2 is planned for release." Most recently, on May 2, 2026, the developer confirmed they are "currently continuing work on the second chapter of the saga." In the meantime, the game has received meaningful updates to its existing Chapter 1 content. Version 0.9 (February 7, 2025) added new quests, characters, dialogues, magic spells, and a reworked combat system. Version 0.9.1 (March 21, 2025) added a new lighting and shadow system along with performance improvements. Chapter 2 is confirmed to be coming, but no release date has ever been given, and the developer has openly acknowledged delays. The project is built by a two-person team, which means progress is inherently slower. While the developer remains communicative — with posts as recently as May 2, 2026 — the indefinite timeline and repeated acknowledgment of delays make the delivery of Chapter 2 uncertain.
