Spirit of the North

Spirit of the North is a single-player narrative adventure game that launched on May 7, 2020 and received post-launch feature updates, the most substantial being Update 1.04 on August 19, 2020, which added photo mode, overhauled several systems, and addressed community feedback. After that update, developer communications for this game shifted almost entirely toward announcing and supporting its sequel, Spirit of the North 2. There are no unreleased DLC entries for this game, no roadmaps or announcements of additional content for it, and no developer statements suggesting more is planned. The news posts from 2023 onward are all focused on Spirit of the North 2 (its announcement, development diaries, release, and DLC), not the original game. The November 2025 post celebrating 1 million copies sold is a community milestone announcement with no indication of new content — it is a celebration of the game's legacy, not a signal of ongoing development. Spirit of the North launched as a complete, self-contained experience and has been treated as such by its developer for several years.
