Evaluation
Splatter launched on December 15, 2022 and received a handful of post-launch patches and feature updates over its first year. On December 23, 2023 — the game's one-year anniversary — the developer published a retrospective post explicitly stating: "This will probably be our last content update for Splatter… the game feels complete and it's time we put the damn thing to bed." That same update added developer commentary to some levels as a final celebratory touch. Since that announcement, all subsequent developer communications have focused entirely on new projects: Steel Carnelian (announced September 2024) and Jenny the Witch (featured at Steam Next Fest in February 2026). No further content for Splatter has been announced or hinted at. The only DLC ever released was the soundtrack, which shipped on January 14, 2023. The developer's own words, backed by a complete absence of any Splatter-related development activity since December 2023, make clear that the game is finished.
Evidence
On the game's one-year anniversary, the developer stated 'This will probably be our last content update for Splatter' and that 'the game feels complete and it's time we put the damn thing to bed.'
The developer noted the original team has split into two separate studios (Rat King and Catbird Soft), each working on new, separate projects — signaling a clean transition away from Splatter.

About this game
Can you feel them? The colors burning beneath your skin?
Splatter is a first-person fever dream where you blast constantly-adapting enemies into neon sprays of pulp and slime. This world is one built for violence. It is a digital mindscape, surreal and yet strangely familiar, constructed by four anonymous administrators. To survive within it, you must overcome each challenge and outsmart hordes of creatures that learn as you defeat them. Blast enemies with your finger guns, chug cans of energy drinks, and maintain your brain chemistry in order to win.
Your victories, however, may come at a terrible price. Can you uncover the motives of your captors before it is too late? Can you survive? Can you remain sane? Can you remain yourself?
Content Warnings: Flashing lights, visual glitches/distortion, explicit language. It also contains references to self harm, drug use, bigotry, sexual assault, kidnapping, and cult indoctrination.
