STAR OCEAN THE DIVINE FORCE launched on October 27, 2022 as a complete, self-contained single-player RPG. The only DLC available is a Digital Deluxe Upgrade that was released on the same day as the base game, indicating it was a launch-day bonus pack rather than post-launch content. Developer communications after launch consisted entirely of technical patches addressing shader compilation issues and minor gameplay adjustments — no new story content, expansions, or future content roadmaps were ever announced. The one notable post-launch news item from June 22, 2023 was an announcement for an entirely separate game (STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R), not additional content for this title. Square Enix has made no statements indicating further content is planned for THE DIVINE FORCE, and the update cadence stopped after the early post-launch patches in late 2022. The game shipped as a finished product with no post-launch content cycle.

In STAR OCEAN THE DIVINE FORCE, characters can freely move in 360° degrees and roam the skies.

You can move in three dimensions whilst flying around the largest environment ever.
Whether you’re flying around and exploring rockfaces and roofs of buildings in the city, or leaping off cliffs to seamlessly enter battles, you’ll have more freedom in terms of both adventuring and battling.
