Star Sky 2 launched on March 2, 2016 as a self-contained narrative walking experience — the second chapter in a planned trilogy by developer Mårten Jonsson. The game received a minor bug fix patch on May 15, 2017 to address achievement tracking on macOS and Linux, but no major content was added after launch. On September 26, 2018, the publisher announced the release of Star Sky 3, explicitly describing it as "the final chapter of the Star Sky trilogy" and promoting a bundled Star Sky Trilogy package. This announcement confirms that the trilogy — and by extension Star Sky 2's place within it — is now complete. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmap commitments, and no developer statements suggesting further content for Star Sky 2. The game shipped as a finished narrative product and the trilogy it belongs to has since concluded.
