Star Wars Battlefront II (Classic, 2005) is a 20-year-old retail game originally developed by Pandemic Studios (now defunct) and published by Lucasfilm. It shipped as a complete, standalone product upon its original release in 2005. There is no DLC, no expansion content, and no post-launch content cycle — the game launched as a finished package.
The Steam version was made available in July 2009. Since then, the publisher has issued a small number of maintenance updates: multiplayer support was restored in October 2017 (after the GameSpy shutdown), followed by a minor bug fix and performance patch in January 2018, and a version revert in February 2021. These are all maintenance actions, not new content releases.
The last official communication from the publisher was on February 10, 2021 — a brief note about reverting to a prior build. There has been no developer or publisher activity since that date. No future content has ever been announced or implied for this title. The game is complete as originally shipped, and the publisher's only ongoing involvement has been occasional compatibility and multiplayer maintenance.
