Steel Division 2 launched on June 20, 2019 and has been continuously supported by Eugen Systems ever since. The game has received a substantial and sustained library of DLC across six-plus years: 7 major "Nemesis" scenario expansions, 17 free "Reinforcement Packs" adding units and maps, multiple paid campaign expansions, and numerous feature and balance patches throughout.
The most recent major content release was the Battle of Dukla Pass expansion on September 8, 2025, which introduced a full Army General campaign, six new divisions, and accompanying free content for all players. This was followed by additional balance patches and bug fixes through at least October 15, 2025, showing the studio remains engaged with the game.
In January 2025, Eugen Systems explicitly stated that "Steel Division 2 is not dead" and confirmed ongoing development plans including the then-upcoming Nemesis #7, Reinforcement Pack #17, and the Battle of Dukla Pass expansion — all of which subsequently shipped as promised. The studio also noted in May 2026 that they are still active, having re-released their older R.U.S.E. title, demonstrating the studio itself is healthy and operational.
The historical cadence shows major content drops arriving roughly every 3–12 months across the game's lifetime, with no developer statement indicating that support has concluded. While there has been no new Steel Division 2 content announcement since the Battle of Dukla Pass shipped in September 2025 (approximately 9–10 months ago as of today), the game's multi-year pattern of support and the studio's confirmed continued activity means this silence alone is not sufficient to conclude development has ended. No "final update" or end-of-support announcement has been made.
