Stories of Mara launched on August 26, 2021 as "Chapter One" of what is described as an episodic visual novel. The short description still refers to it as an "episodic slice of life tale," strongly implying additional chapters were intended. Shortly after launch, Chibig fixed several bugs and announced a studio showcase for February 2, 2022, at which they promised to share news about Stories of Mara alongside other titles in their lineup.
However, no developer communications about this game have appeared since December 15, 2021 — a silence of more than four years as of June 2026. No additional chapters have been released, and the store page still carries the "episodic" framing and "Chapter One" title context. It is not possible to determine whether the additional chapters promised by the episodic structure were quietly cancelled, are still in development, or were addressed at the showcase without any follow-up news being posted to Steam. The developer has not made any statement confirming the game is complete or that further episodes are no longer planned.
