Strayed is a VR survival game currently in Early Access, and it has been receiving consistent major content updates since launching in April 2024. The developer has shipped 17 major updates, progressing from early versions through 0.20, adding new weapons, biomes, monuments, vehicles, survival systems, and base-building features throughout. In January 2026, the developer announced a deliberate shift from monthly to bi-monthly updates, explicitly citing a desire to improve quality and stability. They committed to two specific upcoming updates — a terrain overhaul on March 6 and a bunker monument on May 1 — and delivered both as promised: Update 0.18.0.0 "New Frontiers" on March 6, 2026 and Update 0.19.0.0 "Buried Origin" on May 1, 2026. The previous evaluation flagged a risk signal due to a June 1, 2026 post in which the developer announced a temporary pause of Steam sales until July 6, 2026, citing a cheating crisis that was stretching the team thin. However, the developer has since resolved that situation: Update 0.20.0.0 "Fashion & Firepower" shipped on June 26, 2026 — fully within the bi-monthly schedule window and before the sales pause even lifted. The teased M4A3 rifle (announced June 12, 2026) was delivered in that same update. This demonstrates that the operational strain did not disrupt development, and the earlier concern no longer applies. As of August 15, 2026, the last major update shipped on June 26, 2026, which is approximately seven weeks ago. Given the developer's stated bi-monthly cadence, the next major update would be expected around late August to early September 2026 — well within the established pattern. The game has no announced 1.0 release date, and there is no indication the developer intends to wind down development.
