Evaluation
Strife is a free-to-play MOBA that originally launched in May 2015. A November 14, 2024 developer post [NEWS-10] announced that game servers had been restored thanks to community efforts, marking a revival of active development after what appears to have been a period of inactivity. Since that revival, the game has received a consistent stream of updates: Patch 1.1.1.0 (November 29, 2024), Patch 1.1.2.0 (December 23, 2024), Patch 1.1.3.0 (February 13, 2025), Patch 1.1.4.0 (March 21, 2025), Patch 1.1.5.0 (May 21, 2025), an Experimental Armor Patch (December 26, 2025), a Major Experimental Balance Update (January 31, 2026), and a revert of that experimental patch (March 1, 2026). This establishes a sustained cadence of roughly one to three months between updates spanning from November 2024 through March 2026. The March 1, 2026 post [NEWS-1] notes that while the experimental patch was reverted, the developers stated they "might see some changes returning to the game in the future once we establish direction to move forward," signaling continued engagement rather than a conclusion. No developer statement announces the end of development or that no further updates are planned. As of today (September 30, 2026), approximately seven months have passed since the last developer communication on March 1, 2026, which slightly exceeds the established 1-3 month cadence. However, given that the game is community-driven with volunteer contributors and the tone of the last post implied ongoing work rather than a shutdown, this silence is ambiguous. The update pattern across the prior 16 months was strong enough to indicate ongoing engagement, even if the current gap is notable.
Evidence
Experimental patch reverted based on player feedback; developers stated they 'might see some changes returning to the game in the future once we establish direction to move forward.' Last developer communication as of the assessment date.
Major experimental balance update released, driven by community members, covering heroes, items, pets, neutrals, and bosses.

About this game
Enter the Hero
In Strife®, you will assume control of a powerful hero. Each hero is uniquely designed to embody a play-style or idea, and heroes are by far the most important aspect of any game of Strife. As a hero, you will decide how the game flows, how quickly it progresses, and whether the outcome is favourable for your team. All Strife heroes are freely available from your very first match!Community First
How your fellow players behave matters a lot in online multiplayer games. Strife is designed from the ground up to encourage cooperation and reduce toxic conflicts.Customize Your Armoury
Crafting enables you to change item components and recipes, allowing any item to be part of your arsenal.Every Hero Needs a Sidekick
A Pet will accompany you onto the battlefield, offering you unique advantages. Play to unlock more pets to expand your options.Shared Last Hit Gold
