Evaluation

Suikoden I&II HD Remaster launched on March 6, 2025 as a complete package — an HD remaster of two classic JRPGs bundled together. The store description presents the game as a finished product with no mention of planned DLC, expansions, or post-launch content additions. There are no unreleased DLC entries listed on the store. Since launch, KONAMI has posted several bug fix and quality-of-life patches (Ver.1.0.3 on May 1, 2025, and Ver.1.0.4 on October 22, 2025), as well as an April 4, 2025 post outlining planned fixes and feature additions — all of which appear to have been delivered in the subsequent 1.0.3 update. These patches addressed gameplay bugs, added minor settings options, and resolved a Unity security vulnerability. None of these communications announced new story content, DLC, or expansions. More recent news posts (February through June 2026) are promotional announcements for related Suikoden franchise media — a manga adaptation of a separate title called "Suikoden STAR LEAP" — cross-posted to this game's Steam page. These posts do not announce new content for the HD Remaster itself. The game launched as a complete remaster of two existing games, has received appropriate post-launch maintenance, and no future content has been announced. It is complete as shipped.

The legendary KONAMI JRPGs Suikoden I and Suikoden II have now been remastered in HD!

The Story of Suikoden I

A once renowned hero turns into a violent tyrant, and an empire falls into decline.

A Liberation Army is rising up in an act of rebellion against an oppressive rule.

One by one the 108 stars of Destiny gather to shape the course of history.

The Story of Suikoden II

Our story's hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which participated in a drawn-out border dispute between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowston .

A few months earlier, a truce agreement was signed between the two forces, both of which were happy to see an end to the fighting.

However, hidden under the momentary peace the fires of a new war continued to smolder…
