Sunny-place launched into Early Access on December 21, 2021, and officially exited Early Access on May 31, 2022 with the v1.00 update. At that time, the developer (tjern) published a post-launch wishlist — including more outfits, reworked car customization, a more fleshed-out tavern, more music, achievements, better leaderboards, and cloud saves — while noting uncertainty about how much time could be devoted to these additions. Following the 1.0 release, the developer delivered several feature patches through late 2022 and into early 2023: new tracks, achievements, new cosmetic items, improved multiplayer features, and a global ghost leaderboard system. The final recorded update was a small bug-fix patch on April 13, 2023, which added an option to disable the ghost carriage and a warning popup. No updates of any kind have been posted since April 13, 2023. By late 2022, the developer had already begun publicly shifting focus to a sequel — sunny-place-2 — announcing its demo on October 30, 2022 and teasing its release in the November 2022 patch notes. No new content has been announced for sunny-place, no unreleased DLC exists on the store, and the developer has not communicated any further plans for the game. The post-launch additions that were delivered fulfilled most of the wishlist items, and the silence since April 13, 2023 is consistent with the game having reached its natural endpoint.
