Super Sami Roll launched on July 21, 2021 as a complete, self-contained 3D platformer. Following launch, the developer shipped a series of bug-fix patches through June 2022, but no additional story content, levels, or expansions were ever released for this game. The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which released alongside the game on launch day.
Starting in March 2024, the developer's communications shifted entirely toward a sequel — Super Sami Roll 2. On March 12, 2024, the developer announced that the sequel was officially in development. This was followed by Kickstarter teaser posts in August 2024, a demo release and Kickstarter date announcement in October 2024, and the Kickstarter campaign launch in November 2024. None of these posts announce new content for the original Super Sami Roll — they are all focused on the sequel.
The original game launched as a finished product with a complete story and no post-launch content cycle beyond maintenance patches. The developer's focus has moved entirely to the sequel, and no further content for the original has been announced. The game is complete as it shipped on July 21, 2021.
