Supermarket Billionaire launched on August 1, 2025 as a free-to-play idle/simulation game. On launch day, the developer explicitly stated: "This is just the beginning: we have many exciting updates and features planned." The developer has consistently delivered on that promise. Two major free content updates have shipped post-launch: the Adventures system on October 27, 2025 (adding explorable continents with unique products, employees, and facilities), and the Africa adventure region on May 31, 2026 (adding exclusive bonuses, new products, employees, facilities, and achievements). This establishes a major content cadence of roughly every 6–8 months. The developer also ran a Christmas seasonal event in late 2025 and shipped a paid Support Pack DLC on December 3, 2025, as well as multiple bug-fix patches throughout the game's life. The most recent communication for this game was the Africa update on May 31, 2026. Since then, the developer posted on July 23, 2026 announcing their new title Professional Chef — a cross-promotion post showing the studio is active, though not a direct update for Supermarket Billionaire. The Africa update falls well within the established 6–8 month cadence window (approximately 2.5 months have passed since it shipped as of today, August 19, 2026). No statement has been made indicating development is winding down or complete.
