Evaluation

Supernormal is a solo-developed psychological horror game that launched on January 8, 2024. The developer shipped four post-launch updates through June 17, 2024, covering bug fixes, feature improvements (camera overhaul, voice recognition improvements, new language support), and quality-of-life changes. These updates were responsive to player feedback rather than adding new story content or expanding the game. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store, and no roadmap or announcement of future content for Supernormal has ever been published. The game was described at launch as approximately 2 hours of gameplay with two possible endings — a compact, self-contained experience. Since June 2024, the developer's public communications have shifted entirely toward new projects. In May 2024, a new game called Supernatural was teased. In December 2024, Dream Cage was announced with a wishlist. Most recently, on June 18, 2025, the developer announced Bleak Haven — described as "my darkest and biggest game yet" — and a free demo was planned for early July 2025. None of these announcements reference additional content for Supernormal. The launch post's line "this is just the beginning" appears to have referred to the developer's broader career rather than ongoing content for Supernormal specifically, given that all subsequent energy has gone into new titles. The game launched as a short, complete horror experience and has received no content additions beyond maintenance patches. Development of Supernormal is complete.

About this game

For the last two years, I've had the honour of developing the spiritual successor to Allison Road, with the blessing of its original creator. It's designed and optimized for both old and next-gen hardware. This has been a solo journey for me, and I like to think of it as Allison Road, Reimagined. I've put my heart and soul into this project, and I truly hope you enjoy it.

  • SOLVE THE CASE

Your detective skills shape the story, leading to one of two different endings. It all depends on the number of clues you discover and how observant you are.
  • VOICE RECOGNITION

Communicate with the paranormal entities using your microphone. Will they offer crucial clues or mislead you into dead ends?
  • MICROPHONE DETECTION

Engage with the paranormal, but remember this crucial rule: if they unveil their presence and hear you, STAY QUIET and DON'T MOVE, or risk altering the game's ominous outcome.
  • PHOTOSCANNED GRAPHICS

Using Unreal Engine 5, the game is set in a hyper-realistic environment. It also uses photo scanned graphics to enhance every tiny detail, including the horror!
  • RANDOMIZED PARANORMAL EVENTS

Introduces unpredictable, spine-chilling encounters that are randomly generated throughout the gameplay. No two scares are alike, intensifying the terror and replayability.

SUPERNORMAL OFFERS ABOUT 2 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY AND COMBINES DETECTIVE WORK WITH PUZZLE-SOLVING IN A HORROR SETTING. EXPECT TO SEARCH FOR CLUES AND SOLVE PUZZLES TO PROGRESS THROUGH THE GAME.
