Swan Song launched on June 4, 2026 as a complete puzzle game with 9 chapters, 108 puzzles, voice acting, and a full soundtrack. From day one, the developer was open that this was not the end of support — the launch post included a roadmap of free updates covering controller support, better Steam Deck compatibility, and a level editor allowing players to create and share custom chapters through Steam Workshop. The studio has been consistently active since launch. The version 1.1 patch on July 17, 2026 added two new secret levels and quality-of-life improvements, and a bug fix followed on July 29, 2026. On September 11, 2026, the developer posted an in-engine video showing the level editor's progress and announced that community playtesting was underway through their Discord. The most recent post, on September 16, 2026, celebrated 9,000 copies sold and 50,000 wishlists, and specifically mentioned that players would soon be able to get their hands on the level editor and its free updates. The level editor has not yet shipped. The developer has also stated that new puzzle elements — platforms, notes, and obstacles — will be added as additional free updates after the level editor releases. Business Goose Studios remains visibly active and engaged with the game.

A Short Description

Swan Song is a cozy and emotional puzzle game. Use notes of different shapes and sizes to program a music box and solve each puzzle. Help the swan reach the exit as you uncover a touching story of family, loss and grief.

How does it work?

Each puzzle is a piece of music waiting to be written. Place musical notes on your scale. Their position determines which platforms activate when the melody plays. Once you’ve composed your solution, turn the key and let the music guide the swan through the level.

Perfect timing and thoughtful placement are the keys to success. Between puzzles, a touching narrative slowly unfolds, revealing the story of the music box’s creator and the family it was made for.

The Story

You discover an old, mysterious music box filled with personal artifacts. This was the creator’s final masterpiece, his “swan song”. Lovingly crafted as a tribute to his family.

With every puzzle you solve, fragments of his story come to light. What happened to the family? What secrets does the box hold? Let the music lead you through a story of grief, memories & regret.

Swan Song's future free updates

We will update Swan Song with some free updates in the months after release. These of course include some bug fixes, but we also have some additional content planned! Later this year you can expect to get your hands on the level editor, so you can create your own levels and share them on the steam workshop. This level editor will also get some updates with platforms and additional mechanics never seen in the main story! We will also be working on proper controller & better Steam Deck support. A console release of Swan Song is something we really want to do! We are working on it, but don't have an exact release plan for it yet. Stay tuned for more!
