The developer has explicitly stated that TableTop Soccer is dead. In a post on February 23, 2026, the developer announced that the game's online servers — required to play — had been shut down due to being too outdated to maintain, and that they intended to request Valve remove it from the store. A follow-up post on March 19, 2026 confirmed this status, explaining that the game is "functionally dead" and that the developer had released a successor game, TableTop Soccer: Redux, instead. The developer even went out of their way to add a special "achievement_unlocker" branch so players could still unlock Steam achievements despite the game no longer being functional. While the developer mentioned a vague possibility of releasing a Docker image to allow self-hosted server play, they explicitly framed this as an informal, best-effort attempt with no promises — not an ongoing development commitment. The game itself launched in April 2016 and received active updates through May 2017, but all development has definitively ended. The game remains purchasable on Steam for its trading cards and achievements, despite being non-functional for its intended purpose.

With a heavy focus on strategy & tactics, play solo games, challenge friends, or players all over the world. Play live games or play resumable chess style games over a few days to perfect and execute your plan. Earn experience points scoring goals & winning games to level up your players, unlock abilities and customize your team to try to take the top spot on the Leaderboards.
You'll need to think fast and plan ahead to anticipate your opponent, react quickly and not succumb to pressure to crush your opponents' dreams and bring your team to victory.
