Tales of Berseria launched on Steam on January 26, 2017 as a complete, story-driven JRPG. All 14 DLC items — consisting of costume packs, attachment sets, and adventure item packs — were released in a rapid burst between January 26 and February 21, 2017, which is typical for this type of game where cosmetic and bonus content ships alongside or shortly after launch. Every single DLC item is marked as released, and none are listed as upcoming or unreleased. The developer's post-launch news activity consisted of a couple of early bug fix patches in early 2017 and a 2021 announcement for a separate game in the series (Tales of Arise), which is unrelated to Berseria's own content development. There have been no announcements of new DLC, updates, expansions, or additional content for Tales of Berseria at any point after February 2017. The game was delivered as a finished single-player experience, and all associated content has long since shipped.

Velvet will join a crew of pirates as they sail across the sea and visit the many islands that make up the sacred kingdom of Midgand in an all-new adventure developed by the celebrated team behind the Tales of series. Veteran Tales of character designer Mutsumi Inomata has personally designed Velvet and famous Japanese animation studio, ufotable, returns to animate the game’s breathtaking cutscenes; delivering truly epic and emotional storytelling in their unique style.
