Evaluation

Tales Of Glory 2 - Retaliation entered Steam Early Access on December 21, 2020 and has received consistent development updates since then, including major content drops in January 2021 (Somalia map and a large feature update), March 2021 (Breach game mode, Kazakhstan map), and throughout late 2021 (vehicles, zip lines, a full stealth AI rewrite, new maps). The most recent developer communication, posted on March 16, 2024, announced that multiplayer is now available on the beta branch — including 4-player co-op maps and a 16-player battle royale map — and explicitly stated that the next update would focus on finishing multiplayer and building a story mode that links everything together. This means the game has announced content that has not yet shipped. However, since that March 16, 2024 post, the developer has gone completely silent. As of June 26, 2026 — more than two years later — there have been no patch notes, no devlogs, no announcements, and no communication of any kind from BlackTale Games. Given the promised story mode and multiplayer completion have not been confirmed as shipped, and given the extended silence with no explanation, it is unclear whether development is still actively continuing.
Evidence
Developer announced multiplayer beta access (4-player co-op and 16-player battle royale) and stated the next update would finish multiplayer and add a story mode linking everything together. This is the last developer communication on record.

About this game

Follow the adventure of Andrew "Dog" Carter, a former SAS operative and his International Task Force squad as they fight against a global terrorist organization called Quantum in Tales Of Glory 2 - Retaliation, a VR tactical shooter adventure mixing huge immersive battles against hundreds of NPCs and infiltration missions.

Lead your troops to victory in huge battles all over the world

Fight against hundreds of NPCs to capture the different battlefield zones, unlocking bonuses like delaying enemy reinforcements, Air support or Artillery Strike.
Give proximity orders to your squad but also give tactical goals to the ITF soldiers fighting along you and your squad.
But be aware that getting rid of Quantum forces won't be an easy task as enemies units will use cover, tactics, and make the best use of their weapons (Assault rifles, Snipers, RPG, Shotguns, Grenades, etc).

Stay in the shadow

Be sure to stay undetected as you break throught enemy lines in commando solo missions.
To do so, make the best possible use of natural cover, climbing abilities and shadows to achieve missions objectives.
And in case you'll need to kill someone... don't leave any trace or patrols will be alerted
