Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU launched on April 23, 2024 as a complete single-player metroidvania. Following launch, Surgent Studios released a series of patches responding to community feedback: Patch 1.1 (May 15, 2024) addressed bugs, Patch 1.1.1 (May 22, 2024) fixed soft-lock issues, Patch 1.3 (August 21, 2024) added two new difficulty levels and quality-of-life improvements, Patch 1.4 (October 16, 2024) introduced new ability upgrades and fast travel points, and Patch 1.5 (November 21, 2024) added Hard Spirit Trials and further improvements. There is no announced DLC, no unreleased content listed on the store, and no developer statements indicating further content is planned. The developer's own post-launch communications frame their work as refining and improving the existing game based on player feedback, not expanding it with new story content or major additions. The Hard Spirit Trials added in Patch 1.5 on November 21, 2024 represent the last meaningful content addition.
