Tales of Spark entered Steam Early Access on February 4, 2024, and has been receiving a steady stream of substantial content updates since launch. The 42 news posts scanned include 8 major content updates, 12 feature patches, and 21 bug fix posts — a profile consistent with a game in active, ongoing development. Major updates have included new playable characters, boss reworks, new open areas (such as the Training Grounds added June 30, 2024), new equipment sets, magic contract systems, travel handbook quests, and extensive visual overhauls. These major updates arrived at intervals of roughly 1–3 months through at least June 30, 2024. A patch from April 4, 2024 explicitly noted that a Crystal Palace map was under construction and told players to "stay tuned," signaling additional content was being built at that time. Early years of the Tang dynasty, Yuwen Jingzhe and his fellow Kunlun Sect apprentices practiced swordsmanship and techniques among the snow-capped mountains in Kunlun Mountains of the Western Regions. The arrival of MangZi, a small witch of the Moonwatcher clan in NanZhao, broke the tranquility of the mountains.
It turned out that during the Mid-autumn Festival, there was a strange phenomenon in the sky, Blood Moon befell, soon a commotion in the northwest boundary of Moon Ward was noticed by Shadowmoon master in the clan through the sacrifice ritual, urgently the disciples was ordered to go to Kunlun Sect to ask for its head Taiyan Zhenren's help on the crisis.
