Evaluation

Muv-Luv Unlimited: THE DAY AFTER - Episode 03 REMASTERED is a standalone visual novel episode in the Day After series, releasing on February 4, 2021. It launched as a self-contained story chapter — a finished product with no DLC, no roadmap, and no post-launch content cycle attached to it specifically. The developer news associated with this game's Steam page is primarily cross-promotional material for other titles in the Muv-Luv franchise (such as Total Eclipse and Project MIKHAIL), rather than content updates for Episode 03 itself. The two patches in early February 2021 addressed launch bugs, and a November 2021 UI update added quality-of-life options — all maintenance work with no new story content announced or delivered. The most recent developer communication visible on this game's page dates to July 2022, which was a launch announcement for a separate title (Total Eclipse). There has been no communication about Episode 03 specifically since late 2021, no unreleased DLC listed, and no roadmap or announcement of future content for this episode. The game shipped as a complete, episodic story installment with no outstanding commitments.

Evidence

Franchise-wide sale announcement and cross-promotion for other Muv-Luv titles. Episode 03 listed as part of the Day After ULTIMATE COLLECTION bundle with all four episodes released.

About this game

Lieutenant Tatsunami Hibiki has done the impossible. Just when war between the remaining countries on Earth seemed inevitable, he risked life and limb to secure a truce — and succeeded. A peace conference is scheduled to take place in Seattle, and for the first time in months, it seems there might be a light at the end of the tunnel for the warring nations of humanity.

But as the good Lieutenant would soon discover, it was too early to claim victory. France — now relocated to Canada and suffering from widespread famine — has been plotting all along against Japan and the United States. With control over the world's remaining nuclear arsenal, the French are now ready and willing to impose peace by force — on their own terms. And if that weren't bad enough, the BETA have built a Hive on the Western Hemisphere, which is growing with terrifying speed!

Facing threats from both our fellow man and the alien invaders, can Hibiki succeed in bringing the world together in a final effort against our true enemy before it’s too late?
