Terra Incognita Chapter One: The Descendant

Terra Incognita Chapter One: The Descendant entered Steam Early Access on February 3, 2015. The developer, a solo indie developer named Dan, shipped a series of feature and bug-fix patches through 2015, with a second major content update in January 2017 (Update 1.5 – "The Drowned King"). In the January 3, 2017 post announcing that update, Dan was explicit: the game is not finished, more story content and side quests remain to be implemented, and the current version only allows players to progress partway through the story. He also noted that each future update would be "thoroughly packed with content" until the final version. The last post of any kind from the developer was a content teaser on January 8, 2017. Since then — through June 27, 2026 — there has been no update, patch, announcement, or communication of any kind. The game has never reached a 1.0 release. The promised story completion, remaining areas, characters, and side quests have never shipped. The developer acknowledged a difficult solo development history with repeated delays, and the studio also publishes other indie games, which may have diverted attention. There is no indication of whether development is continuing, paused, or abandoned.
