Evaluation

The Aquarium does not dance Special Edition is an expanded, revamped release of a game originally published as free-to-play in February 2024. This Special Edition launched on July 31, 2025 with full voice acting for all heroines, a new scenario ("The Aquarium will always hunger"), updated UI and event CG, and full English localization. The only DLC — a character talk collection — shipped on August 8, 2025 and is already available. On August 3, 2026, coinciding with the game's first anniversary celebrations, the developer announced a new prequel title: "The Aquarium does not dance: The Idol Who Wants to Die," with a Steam store page now live. This is a separate game rather than new content for the Special Edition itself. The Special Edition's own content appears complete — no unreleased DLC is listed, and no additional updates or expansions have been announced for this specific title. The previous assessment classified this as a definitive edition, but re-examining the evidence: the "Special Edition" branding reflects this being an enhanced re-release, not a separately branded "Definitive Edition," "Complete Edition," or "GOTY Edition." The game is best characterized as a fully released title that has shipped all of its planned content.
