The Brew Barons

The Brew Barons launched on March 1, 2024 after over four years of development by a two-person team. At launch, the developers expressed interest in expanding the game depending on its success, mentioning possibilities like more parts, customization, advanced AI enemies, localization, and a console release. Since launch, the developers have maintained a consistent pattern of substantive updates. Feature patches have added new plane parts, pirate fighter enemies, bomb drones, first-person cockpit view, a no-pirates gameplay mode, manual control improvements, and various quality-of-life improvements. On November 4, 2025, the developers announced French and Japanese localizations were in development, and those translations shipped on December 12, 2025. The most recent update arrived on April 10, 2026, adding controller improvements and a bug fix. Across roughly 29 months since launch (March 2024 through April 2026), the developer has posted around 21 feature patches and bug fixes, plus one major content drop (the localizations). The April 10, 2026 update is the last developer communication on record. That is approximately 6 months ago as of today (October 8, 2026). The historical cadence has been roughly monthly updates, so 6 months of silence is notable — however, the gap sits right at the threshold and the developer has made no statement indicating development is winding down. No specific future content has been announced, but equally the developer has never stated the game is complete. The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which shipped at launch.
