The Chant launched on November 3, 2022 as a complete single-player horror action-adventure game. Brass Token continued supporting it post-launch with feature patches through late 2022, and on September 12, 2023 released its one and only story expansion: "The Gloom Below," a free DLC that continues the narrative after the game's Mind Ending. This is the sole major content release post-launch, and all five DLC items listed on the store — including The Gloom Below, the soundtrack, cosmetic outfit, VFX filter, and art book — are now released. There have been no developer communications since September 13, 2023, no announcements of future content, no unreleased DLC, and no roadmap pointing to anything further. The game was a self-contained single-player experience that received one post-launch story expansion, and that expansion has shipped. Development appears complete as of September 12, 2023.
