The Companion

The Companion launched on May 13, 2021 as a complete single-player narrative experience spanning seven levels with a full soundtrack. In the weeks following launch, the developer shipped several patches addressing bugs and gameplay polish (May 20 and May 25, 2021), followed by a more substantial free update on November 9, 2021 adding a "Relaxation Mode." These represent post-launch support rather than new story content. On November 8, 2022, the developer announced a separate sequel game called *The Majestic*, describing it as a continuation of the story in a new, larger game — not as additional content for The Companion itself. This announcement makes clear the developer considers The Companion's narrative complete and is moving forward with a new title. Since the sequel announcement, updates to The Companion have been purely maintenance-focused: a main menu overhaul and mouse input option in November 2022, minor localization and UI fixes in August 2024, and an achievement fix in October 2024. None of these introduce new story content. The store description describes a self-contained journey across seven landscapes with no mention of future additions. The only DLC listed is the official soundtrack, which released alongside the game on May 13, 2021. There are no unreleased DLC entries and no developer statements suggesting further content is planned for this title. The Companion launched as a finished product and has received only maintenance updates since.
